These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Laptop Experts website (laptopexperts.com.au), our repair and IT services, and your purchase of refurbished devices and accessories. By using our website or engaging our services you accept these terms.
1. About us
Laptop Experts Pty Ltd operates two Queensland service centres in Stones Corner (Brisbane) and Burleigh Waters (Gold Coast). ABN details are available on request.
2. Website use
- Content on this website is provided for information. Product specs, images and pricing are indicative and may change without notice.
- You must not use the website to distribute malware, scrape at scale, or breach any law.
- All trademarks belong to their respective owners. Brand names (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, etc.) are used to describe compatible services and products only.
3. Repair services
3.1 Free diagnosis
We diagnose most repairs free of charge. We provide a firm written quote before starting work. No work commences without your approval.
3.2 Quotes & approvals
- Quotes are valid for 14 days.
- If additional faults are discovered during repair, we will contact you before proceeding.
- Devices unclaimed for 60 days after repair completion may be disposed of after written notice, per the Uncollected Goods Act 1995 (QLD).
3.3 Data
You are responsible for backing up your data before submitting a device for repair. While we take all reasonable care, we cannot guarantee data preservation during repair work. Data recovery is a separate service.
4. Refurbished products
4.1 Condition grading
- Grade A — near-new; minor use, no visible dents or screen marks.
- Grade B — light use; visible scuffs but fully functional.
Each listing states the grade. Some cosmetic variation is normal and does not affect function.
4.2 Pricing & availability
Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST. Stock is limited and priced per specific SKU. Where a pricing or listing error occurs we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund in full.
4.3 Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, PayPal, Afterpay and Zip. Payment plans are subject to those providers’ own terms and eligibility.
4.4 Shipping
- Free pickup from either Queensland store.
- Australia-wide shipping via Australia Post / Sendle from AUD 19.
- Orders placed by 2pm Brisbane time on business days typically ship next business day.
5. Warranty (repairs & refurbished devices)
- All repairs and refurbished devices carry a 12-month warranty covering parts and labour under normal use.
- Warranty does not cover: physical damage after purchase (drops, spills, cracked screens), unauthorised modifications, software issues caused by user action, or consumables (e.g. keyboard keycaps).
- Warranty is non-transferable and requires the original order or repair receipt.
- This warranty operates alongside — and does not exclude — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Returns & refunds
- Refurbished products may be returned within 14 days of delivery for any reason, in original condition. Shipping to return is at your cost unless the item is faulty.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.
- Faulty items are covered under warranty and the Australian Consumer Law. Contact us and we’ll arrange the return, repair or replacement.
- Custom builds, opened accessories with hygiene concerns, and special-order items are non-returnable except under warranty.
7. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the specific service or product. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or business loss.
9. Promotions & advertising
Advertised offers apply only during the stated period and while stocks last. Discounts do not stack unless expressly stated. Advertising is compliant with the Google Ads Misrepresentation and Business Operations policies — we do not make unrealistic performance claims about repairs or refurbished devices.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Queensland courts.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site or services after changes indicates acceptance.
